About coffee from Guatemala

Guatemalan coffee is one of the most intense and deep drinks. Guatemala is the largest supplier to the United States. Thanks to the coffee industry, the country's economy is developing very well, and a significant part of the working-age population works on plantations. The country has many unique coffee producing regions that have gained a positive reputation in the industry.

The history of Guatemalan coffee dates back to 1750, when it was first introduced to the country. But the mass cultivation of coffee seedlings began only at the end of the 19th century. The government of the state decided to use all its forces to establish coffee production.

How coffee is grown:

Guatemala's climate is ideal for growing coffee plants. Plantations are spread out almost all over the country. Some regions have long been famous for the variety that is grown in their area. For example, Antigua, Cobane, Quiche, Atitlane and others. It is interesting that the taste of the prepared drink has a connection with the region where the coffee trees grew. This is all due to the difference in climate. Most of the crops should grow in the shade, but the height of planting seedlings is specially adjusted to grow fruits with certain characteristics.

Coffee from Guatemala is available in 3 varieties:

  1. Solid grains ( SHIn- strictly hard bean )- grow at an altitude of 1350-2000 m;
  2. Semi-solid grains (HIn- hard bean)- grow on plantations located at 1050-1350 m above sea level;
